Mark Housley

Mark has a prolific output and has an eclectic interest in aircraft, concentrating mainly on 1/72 and 1/48.  He will tackle anything with dogged determination (as evidenced by completion of the Xtrakit Scimitar) and it is noticeable that he has become keen to try new things since he joined us, this culminating in award of the IPMS Poland Trophy for his Polish Air Museum diorama at ScaleModelWorld in 2013.  It is rumoured he is even about to try a tank or two!

He will talk to anybody, for a long time (in his own words "...able to talk a glass eye to sleep....", is always happy and cheerful, and has got on famously with the 580 crowd since joining in December 2012.  He has quickly become a foundation of the display, attending most of the shows we exhibited at in 2013.

The size of his stash is legendary and includes a bedroom, the garage loft and a large dedicated shed but he is in the course of consolidating and 'selling without mercy' so it is always worthwhile having a look under the 580 table at shows to see what he has for sale!

His best achievement with us so far. Mark won the IPMS Poland Trophy at ScaleModelWorld 2013 with this Polish Air Force Museum diorama which utilised the oft ignored Tamiya 1/100 scale kits
Airfix 1/72 Folland Gnat T.1 with kit decals (Driffield 2013)
Xtrakit 1/72 Supermarine Scimitar F.1 which apparently is a 'challenge' to complete and hence why you don't see many on the table at shows. Kit decals (Newark 2013)
It is difficult to believe but this is the Eduard Fokker Eindecker in 1/72 with kit decals (Hinckley 2013)
Even more difficult to believe is that this is the Trumpeter 1/144 Me.262A-1a in 1/144, which comes with a lovely little Kettenkrad (Stoke 2013)
An Me.262 in a larger scale; the Hobby Boss 1/48 offering which is the 'one off' A-1a/U5 fitted with 30mm cannon (Stoke 2013)
A Trumpeter 1/48 MiG-21F-13 of the Egyptian Air Force, completed using an Aztec Decals after market set (Driffield 2013)
Dragon 1/72 Heinkel He.219A-7 in a beautifully finished mottle and using the kit decals (Stoke 2013)
Airfix 1/72 Vampire T.11 in kit decals. This is often put on the same base as the Gnat in a similar livery, a combination which has seen them frequently photographed (Bolton 2014)
Airfix 1/72 Lightning F.2A finished in the kit decals (Bolton 2014)
